LOLHA has a New Blog

To make information about LOLHA more accessible, it will be published here as well as on FB

The Lake Ola Lakefront Homeowners Association had its quarterly meeting tonight.  Attending were Henry Land, Henry Baker, Charlie Beall, (President) Steve Mellich, Sharlee Hollingsworth, Corky Bucklew, Ned Bower, Bob Christmas, Steve Blanton and guest Marvin and Cindy Sonne. Marvin is a gator wrangler with the appropriate certifications.

There was a lot of discussion about yesterday's county commissioner's meeting, which had those attending sitting on the edges of their seats after Rod Love, the temporary commissioner appointed by the governor, stated his intention to vote for Tim Bailey's plan of changing the zoning next to Stoneybrook Hills to commercial from office space and from senior housing to multi-family housing. In the end, the rest of the commission refused to second his motion and it died on the floor.

They also discussed the gators in the lake and means of controlling nuisance gators. Marvin, a resident on the lake,  is certified to remove nuisance alligators and LOLHA was happy to have him join them tonight as he shared some of his knowledge with the board.

LOLHA is planning a fall barbecue in addition to the annual Spring Picnic. More decisions about the barbecue will be made at the next meeting on September 10th, 2018. Additional information will be posted as decision are made.

Sharlee has agreed to take the reins as the association secretary due to our previous secretary moving out of the area. The association appreciates Charlie Beall making his home available for the LOLHA meeting once again.
